Ride and Stride
On Saturday September 7th the Lincolnshire Churches Trust is holding its annual Sponsored Ride and Stride. Members and friends of all Lincolnshire churches are asked to support this, their major annual fundraising event. The Ride and Stride event is supported by churches all over Britain so this is truly a national event.

How does it work?
Members of our congregation, their families and friends or simply people who live in the parish do a walk or cycle ride to a neighbouring church and back, and raise a modest sum in sponsorship from people they know locally or beyond. They can do their walk or ride in a group or individually throughout the day. Some people and groups, usually on cycles, visit quite a number of churches in their area. Many churches are open throughout the day and manned to provide drinks to riders and walkers.

What happens to the money raised?
The money collected is shared equally between the churches and the Lincolnshire Churches Trust. We are free to decide how our church's share of the money is used, and all money raised by St Mary’s will go towards the roof repairs. The Trust's share goes to support our work in the county in which grants are made to churches requiring help with essential repairs. The Trust is run entirely by unpaid volunteers so all the money that they get is given back to churches in Lincolnshire. The Trust is completely non-denominational.

Please help
Many churches in the county raise large sums through the Ride and Stride and others just a few pounds. Whatever you are able to do in our parish, your help will be most welcome and a vitally important contribution to the essential work the Trust carries out in Lincolnshire.

God our Father, Shepherd and Guide, look with love on Francis, your servant, the pastor of your church. May his word and example continue to inspire and guide the Church and may he and all those entrusted to his care come to the joy of everlasting life. Amen.
